best broccoli

4 - 5 pounds broccoli - but into large florets and dried thoroughly
5 tablespoons + 1 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
4 cloves garlic - peeled and sliced
3 tablespoons toasted pine nuts
1 lemon
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons basil - julienned

1.  preheat oven to 425 degrees.  place broccoli on a cookie sheet.  toss olive oil, salt and pepper over the broccoli.  toss the garlic cloves over the broccoli.  place the broccoli in the oven for 20 - 25 minutes.  occasionally shake the pan to turn the broccoli.  roast until broccoli is crisp-tender and the tips of some of the florets are browned. 

2.  remove broccoli from oven.  zest lemon over the top along with the lemon juice.  toss the remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil, the pine nuts, basil and the paremsan cheese over the broccoli and serve.
